My Story

I'm an award-winning author and philosophy professor at Dillard and Xavier Universities in New Orleans.

After studying at Loyola University Chicago, I completed my second MA and PhD in philosophy at Villanova University, publishing and presenting my research internationally.

I love to explore life's bigger questions and share my findings with academic and popular audiences by practicing diverse genres, such as poetry, aphorisms, encyclopedia entries, fiction, song, and essays.

Currently putting the final touches on a horror novella.

IN THE PRESS

Epistemic Decolonization highlights the myriad ways in which colonialism and imperialism not only shape what we think we know about the world, but even the very ways in which we come to know it. Wood describes how power relations based on nation, class, race, and gender inequality affect our comprehension while, at the same time, he advocates an emancipatory theory of knowledge that recognises the possibility of applying scientific methods to the resolution of social problems.”
